#Job Posting -Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Worker
Rockway Vineyards Golf Club is looking for Golf Course Grounds Maintenance Worker(s) for the 2024 golf season.
Rockway Vineyards Golf Club was established 1991 just outside of the city St Catharines nestled in the Niagara escarpment as an 18-hole championship golf course with a restaurant. We are currently seeking dedicated Grounds Maintenance Worker(s) who can maintain a crisp and clean look of our property around the clubhouse, parking lot and half way house areas. This is a very independent position, perfect for those who take pride in their work and can ensure the daily appearance of our property is up to par.
Requirements for the position(s):
- Ability to work variable hours and outside for long periods of time in all kinds of weather.
- Physical strength and endurance to perform tasks that require these abilities.
- Ability to understand and follow verbal instructions and specifications.
- Ability to understand and communicate written instructions.
- Skillful hands to do a variety of tasks.
- Basic arithmetic skills to measure, estimate the amount of materials/time to complete assigned tasks.
Job Duties & Responsibilities:
- Maintain the beauty of our clubhouse/patio and surrounding areas by cutting grass, trimming weeds, and cleaning areas using gas powered equipment which also includes blowers and power washers.
- Planting greenery, and applying mulch in garden areas.
- Keep our facilities clean and welcoming by washing windows, emptying trash cans, and performing general cleaning duties.
- Use your handy skills to repair and paint benches, tables, guardrails, and assist in the repair of roads, walks, buildings, and mechanical equipment.
- Perform a variety of skilled and semi-skilled tasks, and notify direct supervisor or larger problems/issues.
- Clean all gardens surrounding clubhouse and winery and parking lot.
- Willingness to assist other golf course departments in all projects/services as directed.
- Self-initiate activities consistent with Rockway Vineyards visual standards and department’s goals and objectives.
- Water plants.
- Ability to work independently with limited supervision.
- Use common sense.
Seasonal Position
- Seasonal job: May 1st though end of September.
- 5-6 days a week, 30 to 40 hours per week with flexible hours.
- Wage $16.50 -$19.00 per hour depending on experience.
